IPv6 Geographic Based Provider Independent Addressing

Multi-homing is a problem in IPv6 just as it is in IPv4. It is exacerbated a bit in IPv6 due to the emphasis on aggregation. One possible solution to multi-homing is Provider Independent Addressing. One method of PI addressing is based on geography. One proposal using geography is Tony Hain's recent drafts. The first (FORMAT) describes how to form a prefix, while the second (USE) deals with the use of these addresses.

More information on site multihoming in IPv6 can be found at the Site Multihoming in IPv6 Working Group.
